Q. Do I need to bring pillows or blankets?
A. No, we provide all the pillows and blankets.
Q. Will I need to bring bed sheets?
A. Yes, you are responsible for all the bed sheets in your housekeeping cabin (we do provide them for $40.00 per week if you choose not to bring your own). If you are on the meal plan, everything is provided for you.
Q. Can I enjoy some meals in the dining room if I am housekeeping?
A. Yes, you may join us at any mealtime, although we ask that you give us 24 hours notice.
Q. Do you rent speedboats for tubing or jet skis?
No, we do not offer rentals of speed boats or jet skis.
Q. Can I purchase my fishing license on site?
A. Yes, we have the system to update or issue all MNR licenses (fishing and hunting).
Q. What is the most prevalent fish caught in Kashwakamak Lake?
A. Kashwakamak Lake is widely known for small-mouth bass.
Q. Do you have fire pits?
A. Yes, the cabins have fire pits with firewood always accessible.
Q. How far is the closest grocery store?
A. We have a grocery store 20–25 minutes away in both directions. Our local Foodland store in Northbrook is open 24 hoursa day, starting the last weekend in June.

A. How is the cellular service in your area?
Q. We have cellular service; however, it is hit and miss at times (and depends on your provider).
A. How long is the lake? Kashwakamak Lake is 15 miles (24 kilometres) long.
Q. Are the bugs really bad?
A. We have some friendly blackflies who come out late in May but quickly disappear. The mosquitoes are also friendly for a few months. Insect repellent helps keep blackflies and mosquitoes from biting.

Q. Are you open year-round?
A. Yes, we have cottages available all year.
Q. How close is the nearest medical centre?
A. We have a medical centre in Northbrook, 25 minutes away, as well as a 24-hour county ambulance base. A hospital is located 1 hour in either direction.

Q. Is the boat launch easily accessible?
A. Yes, Kevin also helps with every boat going into the water.
Q. Are the cottages fully stocked?
A. Yes, all cottages have a coffeemaker, toaster, microwave oven, all kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc.
Q. Do you rent canoes or paddleboats?
A. All our canoes and paddleboats are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q. Do you cater to weddings?
A. Absolutely! We have hosted a lot of weddings at Fernleigh Lodge.
