A tradition of creating life long memories at Fernleigh Lodge.
At Fernleigh Lodge, our chief concern is that your experience be relaxing for you. We’re proud of our unspoiled, rustic setting. We are located in the Land ‘O Lakes Tourist Region of Eastern Ontario. Over the last 30 years, we have added facilities and updated conveniences, but we’ve also worked at keeping things in as natural a state as possible. We want to share with you our love for the beauty and tranquility that is Fernleigh.
Fernleigh lodge dots along the beautiful and rustic shore of Kashwakamak Lake. Our 11 acre property is as unique as each of our cabins. Fernleigh Lodge is an almost 100 year old fishing camp that was founded in the early 1900’s by John Ahr. Each and every building was skillfully built by hand using logs that had been cut and floated down the lake. All of these cabins are still used today. We have of course made quite a lot of upgrades and added facilities to make our guests stay relaxing and comfortable but still keeping the rustic, natural feel. Whether your looking for a rustic log cabin or a more modern style cabin we have a wide variety of cabins to choose from. Whichever cabin you choose you can rest assure knowing that it will be clean and comfortable. All of our cabins have full kitchens and bathrooms. We also have a on site newly renovated dinning room where you can enjoy your meals overlooking the lake. Our fresh, home cooked meals and friendly service are sure to be the highlight of your stay.
Kashwakamak Lake is known for it beautiful shorelines and pristine waters. Whatever your idea of a perfect get away; whether it be fishing, swimming, canoeing or relaxing we have the perfect place for you.
Kashwakamak Lake is a fishing “hot spot.” Small mouth bass, large mouth bass, walleye, (pickerel) northern pike and perch are some of the many kinds of fish that you can catch when you fish this lake. Another great part of this lake is the many loons that live here. There is nothing better then listing to the call of the loons while sitting fire side on a warm summer night.
Fernleigh Lodge has cabins open year around. So if you are into snowmobiling, ice fishing, hiking or cross country skiing you can do that here. Kashwakamak Lake freezes so you have a whole lake to explore and use as you wish. Cross country skiing on the lake is wonderful and there is nothing more beautiful and relaxing. For the avid snowmobilers the trails in Eastern Ontario are fantastic. Explore a 700KM network of trails built on a foundation of abandoned rail lines and forest access roads. The trail system borders wetlands, shaded forest, shimmering lakes and verdant farmlands. These adventurous routes wind across the country side passing through several rural communities that provide riders with convenient access to a wide variety of supplies and services.
